Court Grants Five-Day Police Remand of Three More Suspects in Foreign Women Case

Jarida Report

A Lahore court on Monday remanded three more suspects into police custody for five days in connection with the alleged abduction and rape of two foreign women.

The suspects Rizwan, Nawaz and Nasir, were produced before the court by police, who said their custody was required to complete the investigation. The court approved the request after hearing the case.

The latest remand follows the earlier five-day physical remand of four other suspects arrested in the case.

In a related development, an additional district and sessions court granted interim pre-arrest bail to Defence-C Station House Officer (SHO) Faryad Ali until July 10 in a case alleging he threatened a judicial magistrate during proceedings related to the investigation. The court directed the SHO to join the investigation and barred police from arresting him until the next hearing.
