Iran will completely close Tehran’s airspace on Monday as funeral ceremonies continue for late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iranian media reported.
According to the Iranian Students’ News Agency, the airspace closure is part of security and logistical arrangements for the main funeral procession in the capital.
Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization said all scheduled flights at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport and Imam Khomeini International Airport will be suspended on Monday during the public ceremonies.
Mehrabad International Airport is expected to resume normal operations on Tuesday, while Imam Khomeini International Airport will remain closed until further notice.
