Jarida Report

US Vice President JD Vance has said that achieving peace in the Middle East remains a top priority for Washington, praising Pakistan for its constructive role in advancing the regional peace process.

Vance said Pakistan’s contribution to the negotiations has been widely recognised internationally, adding that the United States also hopes Iran will play a positive role in promoting regional stability and that Washington is committed to making the best decisions for the future.

He commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, describing Munir as an “outstanding military leader” who made an important contribution to the peace efforts.

Addressing the gathering, Shehbaz Sharif said the current situation presents a significant opportunity to advance global peace, noting that world leaders had come together with the shared goal of promoting stability and harmony.

The prime minister added that the peace negotiations became possible under the “visionary leadership” of US President Donald Trump and also acknowledged Field Marshal Asim Munir’s key role in the success of the talks.
