Jarida Report

A delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran Cricket Association visited the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) headquarters at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to discuss cooperation aimed at promoting and developing cricket in Iran.

The Iranian delegation held talks with PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed and PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, along with other officials.

Discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration between Pakistan and Iran, particularly coaching assistance for Iranian national and junior teams, knowledge sharing and technical development.

The two sides explored opportunities for Pakistani coaches to work with Iranian players and teams, allowing Iran to benefit from Pakistan’s experience and expertise in the sport.

During the visit, the delegation toured Gaddafi Stadium, the Cricket Museum and the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Officials were briefed on the training infrastructure and other facilities available at the NCA, the PCB’s premier high-performance centre for developing players and coaching expertise.

The visit forms part of efforts to strengthen cricketing ties between Pakistan and Iran and explore ways in which the PCB can support the development of the sport in the neighbouring country.
