The University of Lahore won the All Pakistan Inter-University Women’s Football Championship after defeating Women University Lahore 2-1 in the final at the Peshawar Board Ground.
Organised by the Directorate of Sports at Islamia College Peshawar, the five-day tournament featured eight university teams from across the country, showcasing the growing popularity of women’s football at the collegiate level.
The finalists were tied 1-1 at halftime before the University of Lahore scored the winning goal late in the second half to lift the championship trophy.
In the third-place playoff, the University of Management and Technology defeated 3-1.
Participating institutions included Lahore College for Women University, Superior University, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, University of Lahore, Garrison University and Government College University Lahore.
Brigadier Mubashir Abbasi attended the closing ceremony as chief guest and presented trophies, medals and awards to the winning teams and standout players.
