Britain’s Minister for the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Hamish Falconer, said on Wednesday that the recent rapprochement between the United States and Iran had strengthened Pakistan’s image as a promoter of global peace.
According to an official handout issued after his meeting with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad, Falconer commended Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating understanding between Washington and Tehran.
He also praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for what he described as their historic contribution to peace efforts.
The meeting also included discussions on Pakistan-UK relations and the broader regional situation.
