US President Donald Trump warned on Wednesday that the United States was likely to carry out further strikes against Iran, following the latest escalation between the two countries.
Speaking to reporters at the NATO summit in Türkiye ahead of a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump said: “I’ll give a little warning: We’re going to hit them hard tonight.”
Trump stopped short of saying Washington was returning to full-scale conflict but cast doubt on the future of negotiations aimed at turning the current ceasefire into a permanent agreement.
“I don’t know if we’re going to have a deal. We may just do it without a deal,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Trump declared that the memorandum of understanding signed with Iran to end the conflict was “over,” adding that he no longer wanted to engage with Tehran.
