Trump Says Preliminary US-Iran Peace Agreement Signed, Formal Ceremony Set for Friday

Jarida Report

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States and Iran have signed a preliminary agreement aimed at ending the conflict, although key details have not yet been disclosed and both sides acknowledge that a permanent settlement remains to be negotiated.

The agreement would extend the fragile ceasefire announced in April by a further 60 days and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has largely restricted since the outbreak of hostilities following US-Israeli strikes in February.

Under the next phase of negotiations, the two sides are expected to address more complex issues, including the future of Iran’s nuclear programme.

“The deal’s all signed,” Trump told reporters after arriving in France for the G7 summit. He added that Vice President JD Vance would attend a formal signing ceremony in Geneva on Friday.
