Trabzonspor Sign Mohamed Salah in Record-Breaking Move

Jarida Report

Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor on Thursday confirmed the signing of Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah on a deal worth €17 million (US$19.6 million) per season, marking one of the biggest transfers in Turkish football history.

The agreement was disclosed in a regulatory filing submitted by the club’s publicly listed football company to Borsa Istanbul through Türkiye’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).

Under the contract, Salah will earn an annual salary of €10 million, in addition to a €7 million signing payment each season. He will also be eligible for performance-related bonuses, although the club did not disclose the terms or potential value of those incentives.

Trabzonspor said Salah will receive 20% of the revenue generated from merchandise bearing his name under a separate image rights agreement. The club will also pay an agency fee equal to 5% of the player’s gross earnings.

Earlier, Trabzonspor announced it had opened formal negotiations with Salah and released a video showing the Egyptian international wearing the club’s claret-and-blue No. 61 jersey aboard a plane.

“Trabzon, are you ready? I can hear you. See you very soon. Everywhere is Trabzon,” Salah said in the video, referencing the club’s popular slogan.

The transfer is regarded as one of the highest-profile signings in the history of the Turkish Super Lig.
