Imran Khan’s Sons Voice Concern Over Father’s Health, Say Visits Denied

Jarida Report

The sons of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan have expressed concern over their father’s health, alleging that family members, lawyers and doctors have been prevented from meeting him for several months.

In an interview with CNN, Kasim Khan and Sulaiman Khan said they had received no recent information about their father’s condition because, they claimed, relatives, legal counsel and medical professionals had been denied access to the jailed former premier.

Imran Khan has been imprisoned since August 2023 and is currently serving a sentence in the £190 million corruption case at Adiala Jail. He also faces several pending cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act linked to the May 9, 2023 protests.

The brothers said they have not seen their father since November 2022, following the assassination attempt in which he was wounded.

They added that they applied for Pakistani visas in January but have yet to receive a response.

“We’re trying, we’d like to go, but nothing’s coming through,” Kasim Khan told CNN, alleging that administrative delays had prevented them from travelling to Pakistan.

The brothers further claimed that each time they spoke publicly about their father’s imprisonment, it became increasingly difficult for them to obtain the documentation required to visit him.
