Punjab Forms High-Level Committee to Drive Legal and Administrative Reforms

The Punjab government has established a high-level reforms committee to recommend legal and administrative changes aimed at improving governance across the province.

According to an official notification, Advocate General Punjab Barrister Zafarullah Khan has been appointed as the committee’s chairman and convener.

The committee also includes the Senior Member of the Board of Revenue, the Inspector General of Punjab Police, and the Secretary of Law.

Under its mandate, the committee will formulate recommendations on legal and administrative reforms and submit them to the Chief Minister of Punjab through the Chief Secretary.

The government has also approved the establishment of a Reforms Cell in the office of the Advocate General Punjab. Administrative and logistical arrangements for the new unit will be finalised in consultation with the Chief Secretary.

The notification states that the committee has been tasked with developing practical proposals to strengthen Punjab’s legal framework, administrative structure and overall governance system.
