Trading at the Pakistan Stock Exchange rallied sharply before the Friday prayer break, with investors positioning themselves ahead of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb’s presentation of the federal budget for FY2026-27 later in the day.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index climbed 1,955.69 points, or 1.15%, to 171,659.29 points, reflecting strong investor confidence.
During the session, the index touched an intraday high of 171,692.23 points and a low of 170,946.54 points. Trading volume reached 120.2 million shares, while market turnover stood at Rs9.73 billion. Sustained buying activity throughout the morning helped maintain the market’s upward momentum.
The rally followed a positive close on Thursday, when the KSE-100 Index gained around 276 points to settle at 169,703.60, amid growing optimism ahead of key fiscal announcements.
