Previous Speed Limits Restored on Motorways, National Highways by Govt

The government has withdrawn its earlier decision to temporarily reduce speed limits on motorways and national highways, restoring the previous limits for all categories of vehicles.

According to a spokesperson for the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), the speed limit for cars and Light Transport Vehicles (LTVs) on motorways has been restored to 120 km/h.

The speed limit for Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) and Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) on motorways has also been reinstated to 110 km/h.

The spokesperson added that speed limits for all vehicle categories on national highways have likewise been restored to their previously prescribed levels.

The NHMP urged motorists to continue observing traffic laws, maintain lane discipline and adhere to speed regulations to help prevent accidents and ensure the safe and smooth flow of traffic.
