Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha on Monday for a one-day visit to offer condolences following the death of Qatar’s former Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.
Shehbaz was accompanied by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and was received at Doha airport by Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani.
According to the PMO, the prime minister will visit Lusail Palace to meet Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and personally convey condolences to the Qatari leadership, the royal family and the people of Qatar on the passing of the former ruler.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar are also accompanying the prime minister during the visit.
