Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the United States and Iran had agreed on a framework for a peace deal after more than three months of conflict and were expected to sign an initial agreement within the next 24 hours.
Sharif said Pakistan, which has been involved in mediation efforts, was preparing for an electronic signing of the agreement, to be followed by technical-level discussions next week.
The prime minister described the development as a significant step towards ending the conflict and reducing tensions in the region.
