Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, departed for Bürgenstock on Saturday to participate in high-level talks on implementing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Senior delegations from the United States, Iran and Qatar are also taking part in the negotiations.
The meeting marks the first formal engagement since the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding on June 17, 2026. The Foreign Office said Pakistan will continue to support and facilitate the implementation of the understandings reached between Iran and the United States.
