PM Reaffirms Support for Armed Forces Amid ‘Internal, External Threats

Jarida Report

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s armed forces against internal and external threats.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Sharif paid tribute to Captain Karnal Sher Khan on the 27th anniversary of his martyrdom during the 1999 Kargil conflict. Khan was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military honour for bravery.

The prime minister reiterated the government’s and the nation’s resolve to stand alongside the armed forces in addressing security challenges, as Pakistan continues to face militant attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

The statement follows a suicide bombing on a Pakistan Coast Guards checkpost in Balochistan on Saturday that killed three security personnel and injured 15 others.
