PCB Bars Test Specialists from Global T20 Leagues Under New Contract Policy

Jarida Report

The Pakistan Cricket Board has unveiled major changes to its central contracts system, including a new policy that prevents Test specialists from participating in T20 franchise leagues around the world.

The move is part of a broader effort to strengthen Test cricket, improve player development and introduce a more performance-based contract structure.

Under the new framework, players designated as Test specialists will be restricted to red-ball cricket. They will be allowed to take part in domestic first-class competitions and county cricket abroad but will not be permitted to play in T20 leagues.

PCB officials said the policy is intended to give Test players greater exposure to high-quality first-class cricket and help them further develop in the longest format of the game.

The board confirmed that Pakistan’s Test specialists will no longer be eligible to participate in global T20 franchise competitions.
