Pakistan Railways has added 30 new high-speed, high-capacity freight wagons to its fleet, aiming to modernize freight transportation and support the business community. Each wagon can carry up to 60 tons and was entirely manufactured in Pakistan, reflecting a significant advancement in local industrial capabilities. This addition is part of a broader plan to induct a total of 850 such wagons by the end of the year, with 250 already in operation. The initiative is expected to enhance cargo transport efficiency and promote cost-effective rail freight services compared to road transport.
