Security arrangements for 9th Muharram processions across Pakistan have been finalised, with authorities implementing extensive measures to ensure public safety during commemorations.
In Karachi, the main procession will begin at Nishtar Park and follow its traditional route before concluding at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
Authorities have sealed roads leading to the procession route by placing containers at key entry points to regulate access and manage crowds.
More than 5,000 police personnel have been deployed along the route, while Pakistan Rangers will assist in maintaining law and order.
As part of the security plan, markets and shops situated along the procession route have been closed, and sharpshooters have been positioned on high-rise buildings to monitor the area.
In Punjab, police have been placed on high alert ahead of Ashura, with authorities directing law enforcement agencies to strengthen security arrangements across the province.
