Another case of Mpox has been confirmed in Karachi, with a 35-year-old resident of Landhi’s Muhabbat Nagar testing positive for the virus.
The patient has been admitted to the isolation ward of the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Centre (SIDHRC) in NIPA for treatment and monitoring.
Hospital authorities said the individual had visited NIPA Hospital a day earlier and had no recent travel history, suggesting the possibility of local transmission.
The infection was confirmed through a PCR test, according to the hospital administration.
Officials said eight mpox cases have so far been recorded at SIDHRC, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in Karachi this year to 11.
