The federal government has announced a reduction of Rs3.93 per litre in petrol prices, while maintaining the existing rate of high-speed diesel for the next three days.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division on Friday, the revised petroleum prices will take effect from October 17 and remain applicable until October 19, 2026.
Following the latest adjustment, the price of petrol will fall from Rs390.23 to Rs386.30 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel will remain unchanged at Rs396.96 per litre.
The Petroleum Division stated that the revision was carried out by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.
Officials attributed the adjustment to developments in international oil markets, including changes in Platts benchmark rates, premiums and other associated costs.
The revised prices will remain in effect for the announced three-day period, subject to any subsequent government notification.
