At least five people were killed and more than a dozen others injured in a suspected suicide bombing outside a police station in Kabal, in Pakistan’s northwestern Swat Valley, on Sunday, police said.
The explosion occurred as a group of local youths was holding a protest outside the police station, according to Mohammad Omer, the city’s police chief.
Omer told reporters that investigators recovered a severed head from the blast site, raising suspicions that the explosion was carried out by a suicide bomber.
Police said investigations are underway to determine the exact nature of the attack and identify those responsible.
