Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir arrived in Tehran on Monday for an official visit aimed at supporting Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni received the army chief upon his arrival in the Iranian capital.
The ISPR said the visit forms part of Pakistan’s continuing efforts to seek a peaceful, sustainable and comprehensive resolution to the ongoing regional conflict.
During his stay in Iran, Field Marshal Munir is expected to focus on diplomatic engagements aimed at advancing efforts towards a peaceful settlement and reducing regional tensions.
The military’s media wing said Pakistan remained committed to pursuing diplomatic initiatives designed to achieve lasting peace and stability across the region.
The ISPR described the Tehran visit as an important part of Islamabad’s broader diplomatic engagement amid the continuing conflict in the Middle East.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is accompanying Field Marshal Munir during the visit.
