A Lahore sessions court on Monday extended the interim pre-arrest bail of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Saqib Chaddar and his wife, Samira Chaddar, until July 28 in a cyber harassment and death threats case filed by actor Momina Iqbal.
The court also directed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to complete its investigation before the next hearing.
The case stems from an FIR registered on June 4 after Momina Iqbal accused the couple of carrying out a sustained campaign of cyber harassment, stalking, intimidation and blackmail against her.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqui heard the interim bail petitions, during which both Saqib Chaddar and his wife appeared before the court.
During the proceedings, the investigating officer informed the court that Samira Chaddar had joined the investigation, but said the inquiry was still ongoing. He requested additional time, stating that the mobile phone allegedly used in the offence was required for forensic examination.
The court accepted the request and extended the couple’s interim bail until July 28, directing investigators to complete the probe before the next hearing.
