ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah have been appointed members of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) representing the treasury benches.
According to an official notification issued with the approval of Chief Justice of Pakistan, who chairs the commission, the appointments were made under Article 175A(2)(vii) of the Constitution.
The nominations were submitted by the leaders of the house in the National Assembly and Senate following the resignations of senior lawyer Farooq H. Naek and PML-N MNA Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, who stepped down citing personal reasons.
Under the revised arrangement, the PPP will have representation from the National Assembly, while the PML-N will be represented from the Senate.
