Aurangzeb Says Budget Focused on Transition from Stability to Growth

Jarida Report

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Saturday said the federal budget for 2026-27 was designed to move Pakistan from economic stability towards sustained growth, fulfilling a commitment made by the government last year.

Addressing a post-budget press conference alongside Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and other senior finance officials, Aurangzeb said the budget included several measures aimed at boosting exports and strengthening economic activity.

He said the government had abolished advance tax for exporters and proposed the elimination of super tax for the export sector.

The finance minister added that subsidies worth Rs70-71 billion had been allocated to support exporters, who would also have access to financing at a rate of 4.5 per cent.

Aurangzeb further said duties on the import of raw materials had been reduced to lower production costs and improve the competitiveness of Pakistani industries.
