JI Demands Retest For Top 100 MDCAT Candidates Amid Irregularity Claims

Jarida Report

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Monem Zafar Khan has called for the top 100 candidates in MDCAT 2026 to be retested by an independent body amid allegations of irregularities and mismanagement.

In a letter to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) President Dr Rizwan Taj, Monem Zafar questioned the examination’s transparency, citing concerns over answer keys, result alterations and examination arrangements.

He said around 9,500 Karachi candidates were accommodated at only two centres, compared with 19 in Peshawar and six in Lahore, causing long journeys and inconvenience.

The JI leader also called for an independent inquiry into students’ complaints and a transparent account of examination funds, claiming more than Rs1.26 billion had been collected.
