An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad on Monday sent the suspect in the murder of Pakistan Air Force Group Captain Asim Tariq to jail on a 14-day judicial remand for an identification parade.
The suspect was produced before ATC Judge Abu Al-Hasanat Zulqarnain after being arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of the officer, who was killed while intervening to protect a woman from an alleged abduction attempt on Sunday.
The court directed jail authorities to ensure there was no change to the suspect’s appearance until the identification parade is completed and ordered him to be produced again on July 20.
Police have registered a case under murder charges and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
