Pakistan Railways has recorded its highest-ever annual revenue, generating Rs115.157 billion during the 2025-26 financial year, according to official financial documents.
The state-owned railway operator reported a 24.19% increase in revenue compared with the previous fiscal year, marking the first time it has surpassed the Rs115 billion mark.
The growth was driven by higher earnings from passenger and freight services, commercial operations and property income.
Officials attributed the record performance to administrative reforms, improved financial management, expanded freight operations, better utilisation of commercial assets and enhanced operational efficiency.
