A junior commissioned officer (JCO) and 10 soldiers were martyred after an army convoy came under attack in the Bela-Winder area of Balochistan along the N-25 highway, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said on Wednesday.
Speaking during a media briefing on the security situation in Balochistan, the DG ISPR said the attack claimed the lives of 11 military personnel as security forces continued operations against militant groups in the province.
Lt Gen Chaudhry said security forces also carried out two separate operations in Kharan and Dalbandin, killing six militants in one operation and eight in the other.
He said the operations were part of the military’s ongoing response to the recent surge in terrorist attacks across Balochistan.
