Pakistan Urges US, Iran to Exercise Restraint Amid Rising Tensions

Jarida Report

Pakistan on Wednesday called on the United States and Iran to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could further escalate tensions in the Middle East, warning that renewed conflict would threaten regional peace and stability.

In a statement, the Foreign Office expressed “deep concern” over the latest developments, saying: “A renewed conflict is in no one’s interest.”

Islamabad urged all parties to pursue dialogue and diplomacy, stressing that “there is no alternative to continued engagement, dialogue and diplomacy to achieve the shared goal of peace in the region.”

Pakistan also called on both countries to honour their commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), describing it as “an enduring foundation for understanding, mutual respect and shared prosperity for the region and beyond.”
