Six members of a family, including a husband, wife and their children, were killed after a fire broke out at their home in Tehkal Payan, Peshawar, rescue officials said on Thursday.
According to Rescue 1122, the fire started in a section of the house where furniture and other household items were stored before rapidly spreading through the property.
Rescue officials said the victims died from suffocation and burn injuries before they could be rescued.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and authorities have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The tragedy comes days after four young girls suffered serious burn injuries in a separate house fire in Rawalpindi’s Niazi Town, where Rescue 1122 responded to the emergency.
