Sindh to Add 50 Double-Decker, 500 Electric Buses to Public Transport Fleet

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Saturday announced that the provincial government will induct 50 double-decker buses and 500 electric buses into the public transport system as part of efforts to improve transport services across the province.

Memon made the announcement while chairing a meeting on land allocation for bus depots and planning for ongoing public transport projects.

The meeting was attended by Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Director General Asif Jan Siddiqui, deputy commissioners from Malir, Korangi, Karachi Central and Karachi West, along with senior officials from relevant departments.

Officials briefed the minister on land requirements for public transport projects, including sites for bus parking and operational facilities.

The meeting also reviewed the availability of government land in various districts, proposed locations and future requirements to identify suitable sites for the development of new bus depots.
