Security Forces Kill 10 Militants in Separate Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Jarida Report

Pakistani security forces killed 10 militants in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on August 6, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first encounter took place in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan, where militants attempted to attack security forces’ check posts.

The military said troops repelled the assault, and eight militants were killed during the ensuing exchange of fire.

In a separate operation in Dir district, security forces killed two more militants, the ISPR said.

The military referred to the militants as belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij, the term used by the Pakistani state for members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The ISPR said the operations were carried out successfully, reaffirming the security forces’ commitment to continuing efforts against militant groups operating in the country.
