Hardline Conservative Sanae Takaichi is set to become the first female Prime Minister of Japan on Tuesday after winning a major vote in Parliament’s lower house. A follower of former PM Shinzo Abe and supporter of England’s Margaret thatcher, she got 237 votes in the lower house election to choose the next PM, claiming the majority of the 465-seat chamber.
