Russian Strikes Leave One Dead, 24 Wounded in Ukraine as Both Sides Launch Overnight Attacks

Jarida Report

Overnight attacks between Russia and Ukraine left at least one person dead and 24 injured in Ukrainian territory on Saturday, as both countries reported large-scale drone and missile operations.

In Ukraine’s southern Kherson region, an airstrike killed one person and wounded 19 others, regional military administration chief Oleksandr Prokudin announced on Telegram.

Another five people were injured in Zaporizhzhia, where strikes hit a residential neighbourhood, damaging apartment blocks and igniting fires in parked vehicles, according to regional official Mykhailo Semikin.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia had deployed more than 330 missiles and drones during the assault. It said Ukrainian defences successfully intercepted or suppressed 293 of the incoming aerial targets.

Russia, meanwhile, said its military had conducted a major operation against industrial and energy installations in several Ukrainian cities.

According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the strikes targeted steel production facilities, a transformer manufacturing plant and energy infrastructure in Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia and Zhytomyr.

Moscow also claimed to have intercepted and destroyed 610 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over Russian territory, the Black Sea and Crimea, which Russia annexed illegally in 2014.

The reported attacks highlight the continuing use of long-range aerial weapons by both countries, with residential areas and infrastructure affected by the fighting.

The military claims and interception figures released by Moscow and Kyiv have not been independently confirmed.
