Good window for the Gunners as they look to retain the Premier League title this season, as they bring in a top-class midfielder in Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle, who’ll add to the already packed midfield depth as well as consistent quality, Christos Tzolis off the back of a great season with Club Brugge, getting over 30 G/A last season, and Ezri Konsa in from Aston Villa. A versatile and Premier League-proven defender, getting another defender in most certainly will not make Mikel Arteta mad. However, letting go of 3 attackers (4 if you count Nwaneri) without getting at least 1 attacker in is a big problem, and it was avoidable.

They also bought Allan from Palmeiras and Iliman Ndiaye from Everton to replace Savio and Omar Marmoush after their pursuit of Cody Gakpo proved unsuccessful. With Enzo Maresca at the helm, it’s a new era for City; it remains to be seen whether it’ll be a successful one.

What was shaping up to be an exciting window ended rather flatly. Rebuilding their midfield with the acquisition of Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Carlos Baleba from Brighton. All very good signings, but considering they needed reinforcements in defence and got none, it is a bit worrying, as at times they may play with the same back four as 4 years ago. Carrick in as a permanent manager for Manchester United, they bounced back from the loss against Hull with a thumping 5-2 win over Ipswich.
