Gujrat: The post-mortem examination of three-and-a-half-year-old Armesh Zahra, whose body was recovered from fields near her home three days after she went missing, has revealed multiple injuries and signs of severe trauma.
Police said the medical report documented injuries to several parts of the child’s body, including her face, eyes, mouth and ears.
According to police, the report noted an injury and swelling on her lower lip as well as fractures to an arm and a leg. Bleeding from the genital area was also recorded in the medical findings.
Investigators are examining different possible circumstances surrounding the child’s death in light of the post-mortem findings.
The Gujrat District Police Officer (DPO), however, said the initial investigation suggested that Armesh might have suffered fatal injuries after being struck by stones while playing with other children.
According to the DPO, the preliminary inquiry indicated that stones were allegedly thrown during the children’s play, causing injuries that ultimately proved fatal.
The DPO stressed that this remained an initial finding and that police were continuing to investigate the circumstances of the child’s death.
Armesh had disappeared from her home three days before her body was found in nearby fields, close to a rainwater drain.
