Pakistan’s junior hockey team produced an impressive comeback to defeat Malaysia 4-2 in the bronze-medal match of the Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2026, securing third place in the tournament.
Malaysia made a strong start and established a 2-0 lead within the opening 13 minutes. Adam Johari scored a field goal in the 11th minute before Fahmi Suzaimi converted a penalty corner two minutes later.
Pakistan responded strongly after the break, with Rana Abdul Sami leading the recovery. He scored his first field goal in the 34th minute before striking again in the 47th to bring Pakistan level at 2-2.
Muhammad Shahier completed the turnaround in the 52nd minute, converting a penalty corner to give Pakistan a 3-2 lead.
Four minutes later, Waleed Rana converted a penalty stroke to extend the advantage and seal a 4-2 victory for Pakistan.
Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani congratulated the players and team officials on their victory and the bronze-medal finish.
