KARACHI: Pakistan received $3.588 billion in workers’ remittances in September 2026, marking a 12.7% increase compared with the same month last year, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
However, inflows declined by 1.9% compared with August 2026. During the first quarter of the current fiscal year, remittances rose 14% year-on-year to $10.875 billion, up from $9.535 billion recorded in the same period last year.
Saudi Arabia remained the largest source of remittances in September, contributing $899.1 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with $748.5 million.
Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom sent $515 million, while remittances from the United States amounted to $305.9 million during the month.
The latest figures highlight an annual increase in overseas remittance inflows despite a slight month-on-month decline.
