Trump Shares Ukraine De-Escalation Proposals With Putin, Kremlin Says

Jarida Report

MOSCOW: US President Donald Trump conveyed proposals for de-escalating the war in Ukraine to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a phone call on Friday, the Kremlin said on Saturday.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin received the US proposals “with understanding,” but provided no details about the suggested measures or the Russian president’s response.

Trump has sought to broker an end to the conflict, which has continued for more than four and a half years. Meanwhile, negotiations between Russia and Ukraine remain largely stalled, with both sides intensifying long-range strikes in recent months.

The call came as US, Ukrainian and European officials met in Miami on Friday for renewed diplomatic efforts to end the fighting and address the ongoing deadlock.
