Jarida Report

Pakistan’s women’s netball team made an impressive start to the Asian Netball Championships 2026, securing a commanding 58-34 victory over Japan in their opening Plate Division fixture in Hong Kong.

The Green Shirts controlled the match from the early stages, combining organised defence with effective attacking play to establish a comfortable advantage.

Pakistan maintained their intensity throughout the contest and eventually completed a 24-goal victory, earning their first points of the tournament and providing an early boost to their Plate Division campaign.

The Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) congratulated the players, coaching staff and team officials on the performance. PNF Chairman Zafar Awan, President Malik Sameen Khan and Muhammad Riaz were among those who praised the team’s opening victory.

Pakistan will now look to build on the result in their remaining fixtures as they seek to maintain momentum in the competition.
