Pakistan FM meets with IMF Director in Washington D.C

The Finance Division put out a press release regarding Muhammad Aurangzeb, the finance minister’s first day during his official visit to the United States where he met with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Middle East and Central Asia Department Director Jihad Azour. The press release said “The finance minister and his delegation had a key meeting with Azour. Both sides exchanged views on Pakistan’s reform agenda and reaffirmed their shared commitment to sustaining the current momentum of reforms”.

It also said that the meeting looked at progress in the second review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and recognised the “importance of maintaining macroeconomic discipline”
