Pakistan, Canada Foreign Ministers Discuss Makkah Defence Pact, Regional Developments

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand discussed the recently signed Makkah Joint Defence Agreement and key regional developments during a conversation on Sunday, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said.

Dar briefed his Canadian counterpart on the agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, outlining what the ministry described as the three countries’ shared commitment to promoting regional peace, stability and security.

The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on developments involving the United States and Iran, amid continuing tensions and diplomatic efforts in the region.

Dar additionally raised the situation in occupied East Jerusalem and discussed the recent ministerial meeting on Jerusalem held in Jordan.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the two sides agreed to remain closely engaged on regional developments and other issues of mutual interest.
