KARACHI: Construction of an alternative road connecting Natha Khan has entered its final phase, with Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab reviewing progress at the project site.
The mayor was briefed on the ongoing development work on the alternative route to the Natha Khan Bridge.
Speaking to the media, Wahab said the project would serve as more than an alternative road, describing it as a new connection between Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
He said the 2.25-kilometre road would provide residents of Gulistan-e-Jauhar with direct access to Shahrah-e-Faisal and help improve traffic flow across the city.
The mayor described the route as a “game-changer” and said reconstruction work on Chakor Nala was also underway.
Wahab said efforts were being made to address the city’s problems and ease difficulties faced by residents, adding that the relevant authorities remained engaged in development activities across Karachi.
