India Using Proxies to Destabilise Pakistan, PM Shehbaz Says

Jarida Report

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that India was attempting to avenge what he described as its humiliating setback in last year’s conflict by resorting to covert tactics and proxy groups to destabilise Pakistan.

Addressing the passing-out parade of the 125th Midshipmen Course and the 33rd Short Service Commission (SSC) Course at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi, the prime minister said Pakistan continued to face complex security challenges driven by both external and internal threats.

“Our eastern neighbour, having suffered a humiliating setback in the conflict in May last year, has increasingly resorted to covert tactics and the use of proxies in an attempt to undermine the hard-earned peace and stability in our country,” he said.

Shehbaz said Pakistan remained committed to safeguarding its peace and stability despite what he described as a dangerous combination of international and domestic security challenges.
