Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide will undertake a two-day official visit to Pakistan on August 13-14, marking the first visit by a Norwegian foreign minister to the country in a decade, the Foreign Office said on Wednesday.
Eide will visit Pakistan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as the two countries seek to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in several key areas.
During the visit, Eide and Dar will lead delegation-level talks covering the full spectrum of relations between Pakistan and Norway, according to the Foreign Office.
Discussions are expected to focus particularly on expanding cooperation in trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy and education, as well as strengthening people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
The two sides will also exchange views on major regional and international developments, the Foreign Office said.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for Islamabad and Oslo to identify new areas of cooperation while building on their existing diplomatic and economic relationship.
