India-Pakistan Tensions Escalate After Deadly Airstrikes

India launched missile strikes on May 7, 2025, targeting locations in Pakistan, killing three civilians and injuring 12. Pakistan condemned the attack, vowing retaliation at a time of its choosing. India claimed the strikes targeted militant infrastructure and were non-escalatory. Pakistani officials accused India of ideological motives after mosques were hit. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited ISI HQ and inaugurated a threat assessment center. Pakistan raised the issue with the UN, while the US urged both sides to de-escalate.
