RIYADH: At least 12 people were killed and 309 injured in a Houthi attack on Riyadh’s international airport on Saturday, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said.
The attack, the third reported strike on the airport in a week, was described as the kingdom’s deadliest in more than a decade.
According to GACA, the fatalities included four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshi citizens and one person each from the United States, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan and Egypt.
Hospitals received large numbers of casualties transported by ambulances and helicopters, with some victims reported to be in critical condition. The attack occurred without warning, officials said.
US President Donald Trump said Washington was considering joining Saudi strikes against the Houthis as the conflict expands amid the wider war involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
